AAUW San Diego (CA) Branch Scholarships

For more than ten years, the AAUW San Diego Scholarship Fund Committee has granted in excess of $100,000 in awards to local college and university students pursuing a baccalaureate degree. Individual awards typically range from $750 to $2,000.

Eligibility
- Must be enrolled full time (at least 12 units per semester) and either attending or accepted for the Fall term at a four-year college or university located in San Diego.
- Working toward a baccalaureate degree or a credential (not a graduate-level program).
- Have completed a minimum of 60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) toward the baccalaureate with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.
- All majors are considered equally.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must live in San Diego County. A copy of the student’s or parent’s utility bill is acceptable proof of San Diego County residency.
Selection Process
Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of merit and financial need. The Scholarship Committee reviews and rates all submissions and will invite finalists to a personal interview. Awards are announced and presented at the AAUW San Diego annual luncheon in June; recipients are expected to attend.
