Every year, we distribute scholarships exceeding $532,000, tailored to cater to diverse student requirements.

Donations for Scholarships
If you wish to contribute to the Texas Farm Bureau Scholarship Funds, please make a check payable to “Texas Farm Bureau” and mention “TFB Scholarships” in the memo section. TFB University Scholarships
Mia Balko Student Teaching Scholarship
In memory of the late Mia Balko, former director of youth outreach and scholarship coordinator for TFB and an agricultural science teacher, this scholarship was renamed.
Every semester, four senior agricultural education students are awarded the Mia Balko Student Teaching Scholarship. These $6,000 scholarships are intended to assist students with expenses during their off-campus student teaching semester.
Students planning to teach off-campus in spring 2026 are invited to apply.
The deadline for applications is Oct. 31.
S.M. True, Jr. Agricultural Scholar Award
In honor of former TFB President S.M. True Jr., a $25,000 scholarship has been set up for undergraduate students with a minimum of 60 college credit hours and a declared major in agriculture.
Additionally, four finalists will be chosen to receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Eligibility for this scholarship requires the student's family to have been Farm Bureau members for at least three years at the time of application. Students are advised to apply at the end of their sophomore year for TFB’s most prestigious scholarship.
YF&R Scholarship for College Students
The Young Farmer & Rancher Enrolled Scholarship is designed for students already enrolled in undergraduate programs. To be eligible, applicants must have completed at least 30 credit hours and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must also plan to pursue a career in agriculture.
Three $2,500 Young Farmer & Rancher Enrolled scholarships will be granted.
Rural Veterinary Scholarship
Now in its second year, the Rural Veterinary Scholarship will award four scholarships, each valued at $20,000.
Four finalists will also be chosen to receive a $2,500 scholarship.
Eligibility requires applicants to be second- or third-year veterinary students at Texas A&M University or Texas Tech University with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must also intend to practice in a rural and/or food animal practice in Texas post-graduation.
