National Italian American Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by National Italian American Foundation
Overview
Since its establishment, the National Italian American Foundation has distributed over $10,000,000 in scholarship aid, made possible by the support of the Italian American community. Each year NIAF manages close to 200 individual scholarships, with awards ranging from $2,500 up to $12,000, available to Italian American students pursuing a wide array of academic fields.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for NIAF scholarship awards, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Maintain a current NIAF membership. Memberships remain active for one year from the registration date and are non-refundable. A student may use the membership of a parent, guardian, or grandparent.
- Be enrolled full time at a U.S.-accredited institution of higher education for the Fall semester.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Note: some individual scholarships have lower GPA thresholds; students graded on a pass/fail basis may still qualify.
- Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident alien.
- Demonstrate Italian American heritage by having at least one ancestor who immigrated from Italy.
