National Speaking Association Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by National Speaking Association

Value: $5,000.00
Awards Available: 6
Deadline : Apr 30, 2026

Introduction
This year the NSA Foundation (NSAF) will award as many as six scholarships of $5,000 each. These awards support students with demonstrated public-speaking ability or those planning to pursue a career that relies on public speaking. Since 1989 the Foundation has been granting scholarships annually; to date it has distributed more than $500,000 to help students reach their educational goals while encouraging service to the communities where they study, work and live.

Eligibility
To be considered for a 2026 NSAF scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a full-time student as defined by your college or university, enrolled at a four-year accredited institution.
- Be at least a junior when the Fall 2026 term begins, or be enrolled in a graduate program.

About the Named Scholarships
Six awards are named for distinguished members of the National Speakers Association—individuals recognized as leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, mentors, and national speakers. Each scholarship has particular selection priorities:

- Nido Qubein Scholarship: Named for one of NSA’s most generous supporters, a past NSA president, current President of High Point University, and entrepreneur. Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate a commitment to philanthropy, education, entrepreneurial initiative, and diversity.

- Jeanne Robertson Scholarship: In memory of the former NSA president and nationally known humorist. Special consideration is given to applicants who show interest in education, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a commitment to diversity.

- Robert Henry Scholarship: Honoring an NSA past president who founded the NSA Foundation. Preference goes to students who assist those less fortunate or who can show financial need.

- Cavett Robert Scholarship: Named for the NSA founder, an attorney and philanthropist. Applicants pursuing advanced degrees and those with a record of community service will receive special consideration.

- Bill Gove Scholarship: In memory of NSA’s first president, a mentor to many professional speakers. Preference is given to students focused on education and mentoring.

- Earl Nightingale Scholarship: Named for an NSA innovator who popularized audio-based adult learning worldwide. Special consideration is given to applicants who demonstrate aptitude for education and innovation.

Each scholarship honors the legacy of its namesake by rewarding students whose interests and accomplishments align with the values described above.
