California CAC Educational Scholarship

Introduction The California Association of Collectors Educational Scholarship Foundation (CACESF) is accepting entries for its scholarship competition. Eligible students should carefully review the requirements below before submitting an application. Eligibility Applicants must be current high school juniors or seniors attending a California high school. Entrants must plan to enroll in an accredited public or private college, university, or vocational/trade school within 12 months of high school graduation. Essay topic Compose an original essay on this subject: The importance of establishing and maintaining good financial credit during your college years. Format requirements - Essays must be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point font. - Word length: 700–1,000 words. - Include the essay’s word count at the top of the document. - Do not include any personal identifying information (name, school, address, etc.) on any page of the essay. Deadline and awards - Application deadline: January 31, 2026. - Prizes: 1st place $2,500; 2nd place $2,000; 3rd place $1,500. Permissions and ownership By entering, the applicant and their parent or guardian accept all scholarship rules in this announcement. All submitted essays become the property of CACESF and may be used, posted, or published—whole or in part—at the Foundation’s discretion. Photographs and video recordings taken of applicants at CACESF events are likewise owned by the Foundation and may be distributed, posted, or published. Media representatives may be invited to Foundation gatherings and may report on or broadcast from those events. Selection process A panel of scholarship readers will select three semi-finalists and notify them. Each semi-finalist must produce a video of themselves reading their submitted essay. A judging panel will evaluate these videos and determine the final rankings. Judges’ decisions are final.
