Oregon OSAC Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Oregon Student Assistance Commission
Intro
OSAC scholarships can only be applied toward attendance at U.S. colleges or universities that participate in Title IV federal student aid programs. Note: U.S. military academies are excluded.
Eligibility
Unless a specific scholarship states otherwise, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be either a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen who is in the United States for reasons other than a temporary stay, and who intends to become a permanent U.S. resident.
- Meet Oregon residency requirements. Residency is established in any of the following ways:
- An independent student — or the parents of a dependent student — has continuously lived in Oregon for the prior 12 months.
- A student has been continuously enrolled and completes an academic year (within any 12-month period) at an Oregon high school or an Oregon postsecondary institution.
- An independent student — or the parent(s) of a dependent student — who are on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces have Oregon recorded as their “home of record.”
- The definition of Oregon resident also covers students who are enrolled members of federally recognized Oregon tribes, as well as enrolled members of federally recognized Native American tribes that historically had boundaries including parts of Oregon or that ceded or reserved lands inside Oregon, regardless of the student’s current state of residence. For a full list of tribes eligible for resident classification, see our website.
- Be one of the following: a graduating high school student in the current academic year, a GED® or home-school graduate, or a first-time college freshman, undergraduate, or graduate student.
- Not owe a refund on any educational grant and not be in default on any educational loans.
