Introduction
The LPGA Foundation manages a variety of scholarship opportunities for young women who play golf and intend to begin college in the fall. Applicants to these programs are evaluated on academic rigor, community involvement, and letters of recommendation.
About the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship
Established in 2006, the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship is awarded annually through the LPGA Foundation in partnership with the Phyllis G. Meekins Scholarship Fund. Its purpose is to provide a need-based award to a female high school senior from a recognized minority background who plans to pursue full-time study and has signed a letter of intent to play collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
- Female high school senior from a recognized minority background
- Intends to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university in the fall
- Has signed a letter of intent to participate on a collegiate golf team
- Demonstrates financial need (award is need-based)
- Strong academic program record, active community service, and supporting recommendations are required
Award Details
Two scholarships of $5,000 each will be awarded in 2026.
