SAIL Scholarship

Intro
The SAIL Scholarship supports a law student who will be entering their second year of law school in the Fall 2026 semester (current 1L students are encouraged to apply). It recognizes individuals with exceptional professional potential and demonstrated leadership qualities.
Eligibility and Evaluation
Applicants will be assessed on the following factors:
- Academic achievement during undergraduate studies and the first year of law school.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Volunteer work or public interest service.
- Awareness of social and cultural issues affecting one or more AAPI communities, a commitment to meaningfully address those issues, or both.
- A commitment to “pay it forward.”
Selection Process
The NAPABA Law Foundation will select at least one recipient each year from the SAIL Scholarship Fund and award a $7,500 scholarship. Candidates may be asked to take part in a video interview with members of the selection committee as part of the review process.
Award Details and Conditions
- Total award: $7,500, paid in two equal installments.
- First installment: issued in August of the student’s second year of law school.
- Second installment: issued in August of the student’s third year of law school, contingent upon the scholar’s continued strong academic performance, good character, and ongoing commitment to the scholarship’s stated principles.
